DESCRIPTION:The annual hematology update is designed for healthcare professionals involved in the primary care and diagnostic evaluation of patients with suspected hematologic conditions\, including allied health professionals and pharmacists. \n\n\n\nIn 2026\, the fully accredited conference is expanding to a hybrid format\, including participants from British Columbia and Saskatchewan. The program will focus on practical\, current topics that primary care providers commonly encounter in daily practice\, with the goal of improving awareness and supporting the co-management of patients with hematologic conditions. The conference will conclude with a discussion of regional referral pathways. \n\n\n\nTopics will include interpretation of the complete blood count (CBC)\, commonly prescribed oral hematology medications\, management of bleeding in patients on anticoagulation\, immune thrombocytopenia (ITP)\, and indications for bone marrow biopsy. She completed a master’s degree in medical education\, which focused on clinical reasoning difficulties\, alternative approaches to faculty development\, and information and communication technologies in education (ICTE). She also completed a Master of Health Law and policy\, with a focus on liability for assistance by off-duty physicians and learners\, for which she received the Chénier-Picard Award.
